ATLANTA DBT CENTER (DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR THERAPY)

Introduction: 6 week emotional boot camp for couples, or individuals that teaches: 1. Mindfulness core skills in being in the present moment, not in the past and depressed, and not in the future and anxious. 2. Interpersonal Effectiveness skills on getting needs met, being heard, and being confident in standing for your values all while building a deeper relationship(s). 3. Emotion Regulation Skills on choosing your emotions, how strong they are, and how quickly you can return to 'normal' once they hit. 4. Distress Tolerance Skills on being able to get through situations without making them worse for yourself or others. 5. Radically Open skills on how to get the strength to try new things, new ways of approaching things. 6. Mentalization Techniques on being able to see yourself as others do, and being able to understand others the way that they are, instead of how you think they are. This is a crash course in the basics of each skill set, designed to allow you to find your strengths, and identify what will help you most to work on. It will deepen your understanding of your self, and others. It will allow you to explore what works for you by giving you immediate techniques. It will be 90 minutes with homework. Cost will be $175 per session, $400 for 3 classes or $700 for the whole course, including books and materials. If you plan on submitting to insurance, the invoice can be broken down to reflect 'individual sessions' so that it can be filed. We'll meet on Thursday evenings.
