This was not exactly a "normal job". I had contacted Mr. Mcintyre about a small job in my hallway where an air conditioner water leak had ruined about 9-12 square wood tiles on my floor. I do not have carpeting. Mr. Mcintyre suggested I use tiles from a closet. I initially did not want to do that. He took a sample tile and went to several places to get a color match, but let me know that he could not find an acceptable color match. So, the project was in a state of limbo and I decided to try and get some of the tiles from a closet. It was not easy to do as the tiles are glued to the floor (I live on a slab so it was cement). I did the job myself, but appreciate Mr. Mcintyer for trying to get a color match. I am a novice, but was able to get the water-damaged tiles up and replaced with "pieces of tiles". My job is not a good color match, but I am happy with it.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices are lower than most because I do most of the work myself so I have low overhead. I always lower my price for older customers. It's not a percentage discount, I just take a little off on each thing I do for them. I think of it as if someone was charging my grandmother.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We meet, I listen and take notes on what they are wanting me to do. I come up with a price, if they agree, I'll tell them what day that we can start and what the timeline is for completion. I do not take draws though out a job. I finish and make sure the customer is happy and then get paid.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a construction engineer in the military. That got me interested in repairing homes and building things.
