Introduction: Jordan is an empathic and devoted teacher of music, bringing a world of experience to each lesson. He studied cello performance with David Premo, Associate Principal cellist of the Pittsburgh Symphony, and has years of experience performing in concert halls around the globe. He holds a degree in music composition from Carnegie Mellon University, and is currently a music teacher at the Waldorf School of Pittsburgh. Jordan strives to keep each individual student in mind, and helps each student realize their goal with customizable lessons. Lessons are a negotiable $60/hr and includes travel fee. Selecting the right piece of music can be the most challenging yet rewarding aspect of learning music. I choose repertoire from a wide range of sources to help students find a piece of music that they can engage with, thereby learning a new dimension of cello playing.

Jordan teaches our 8 year-old son weekly cello lessons, and we have been so impressed! He has a kind and respectful demeanor with our child and established an easy rapport with him. He models tremendous respect for the discipline of caring for and playing the cello, while also engaging with our child with a great sense of humor, playfulness, and encouragement. Jordan's teaching style is individualized to the child and builds upon growing abilities week-to-week. The pace has been really good--allowing for both a feeling of accomplishment as well as the enjoyment of the challenge to expand one's playing and understanding of the instrument. Jordan is an excellent teacher and wonderful person, and we would highly recommend him!
