Law Office of Fernando G. Rodriguez
About this pro
I am a solo patent attorney with my primary location in Plano, TX. However, as a patent attorney I am able to practice throughout the United States. I have worked as a patent attorney as well as a patent examiner, which is why I am able to use my experience to conduct smart prior art searches and put together knowledgeable patent applications. I work closely with my clients, and I am directly available for all my clients by phone, text or email. I enjoy working with inventors on a variety of patent applications, including mechanical, electrical, and software. My educational background includes graduate work in electrical engineering, physics and business, so I am excited to work with inventors from many different backgrounds.

Q & A
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I use the flat fee system with no hidden charges to ensure peace of mind for my clients. I realize that inventors and businesses work with practical budgets, which is why there will never be a "surprise" bill at the end of the application process.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to reduce anxiety about the patent application process by engaging in open and honest conversations with my clients from the beginning. I typically start with a free initial consultation, during which we will go over the basics of filing for a patent and address any questions or concerns. After the consultation we will determine the best course of action, and you will be kept informed every step of the way. Throughout the process, I am personally available to answer any questions by phone, text or email, and without the hassle of going through a paralegal.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have graduate degrees in Electrical Engineering, Physics and Business Administration from University of Texas at Dallas, as well as a Juris Doctorate in Law from Southern Methodist University. In addition to writing applications as a patent attorney, I have worked as a patent examiner at the US Patent and Trademark Office.
