Introduction: I have been doing martial arts for over 8 years. I have a brown belt in jujitsu and a green band in Muay Thai kickboxing. I have been teaching kids and adults for over 2 years now. It does not matter what body type, age or gender you are, I will develop a program specifically for you and your body type. I offer bully-proof services for kids, women's self-defense, and an overall approach to any situation of self-defense. We will work together and talk about your goals in defense before we actually meet. We will be in a a safe and friendly environment, practicing out of a jujitsu school. My goal is to have you feeling confident in your ability to defend yourself. You will learn self-discipline, also lose weight and gain physical and mental strength with my program. *****Based out of Fairlawn, NJ, had to put Pompton lakes because I was getting too many NYC requests*** I take great pride in making sure that my students understand the concepts I am showing them. I have had great feedback and will continue to work hard for my students. I want you to be safe and comfortable while you are out at the mall, nightclub, school, etc.

Richard has been training me for a while now and he is an amazing trainer. Not only amazing but he is very patient. He takes his time and always shows new self defense. Richard is highly dedicated to his work and his students. He's been doing this for many years himself and I trust only him. Would I reccomend? Yes highly recommended!!! He definitely gives you your money's worth and leaving you like you are already to compete. Richard even show the moves before he has you learning them this way you see what it is supposed to look like and then you start. The self defense moves like triangle choke, how to properly mount, transition to scissor sweep, foot lock, how to escape from headlock roll(hip roll), etc not only gives me strength to what Rich teaches but confidence. There are so many escapes, transitions, positions, etc that I am willing and ready to learn and does his part to doing to doing so. I even took sister in law to get some defense moves in and she also can't believe how good Richard is. I am always looking forward for my next class. Even my sister in law goes to him for self defense. He is the best!!

I've worked/trained with Rich for about 1/2 a year, and he actually tested me for the 1st stripe on my white belt in jujitsu. He's very patient and does a great job in helping you stay focused. Before moving onto teaching another move, he makes sure you thoroughly understand the previous move and will personally work with you in order to get it right before he moves onto the next move with the whole class. Rich is very thoughtful in being inclusive and always provides an open, non-intimidating environment. Many times I tend to be the only female in a class of 6-10 guys, and I never feel singled out or feel like I can't ask any questions. Rich is very knowledgeable and will make sure you get the most of each session you attend. I highly recommend his classes and am confident that he'll help you in your fitness, confidence (building), or self-defense goals. - Leah Zamora

When I first started jiu jitsu, I was very intimidated being a woman in a male dominated sport. Without the proper guidance, it would have been impossible to keep up. I have found that guidance training under Rich who has helped me really develop my jiu jitsu game. Rich has a passion for jiu jitsu and loves teaching others. His detailed instruction has tweaked my game and has made a significant difference. He really is great and his classes are a lot of fun! I highly recommend Rich to anyone and everyone.
