What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each couple will be provided with a detailed questionnaire to fill out together prior to the design process beginning. The questions are written in a way for me to be able to understand your interests, values, background, style as individuals and as a couple, what aspects of the wedding are most important to you and what your dislikes are to ensure the most accurate results are provided. You will also be asked to provide a few photos (or as many as you want) that speak to you and that you can see as including in part of your wedding and tell me what you like about each one specifically. I can then work to identify a pattern in colors, theme, and décor that you like to produce a one-of-a-kind vision for your wedding.
I go back to the drawing board to research, design, and organize exactly what your wedding day will look like within the scope of your budget in just a couple of weeks. Right after your engagement, you will be able to hit the ground running with the rest of your wedding plans and a clear vision of what your are aiming for.
You will be given the tools that you need to execute the plan and will as a result save countless hours deliberating, researching, and planning.
Once the design is created, I will send it to you to review and advise if any changes are needed. You will also be provided with a list of With This Ring Designs favorite online wedding retailers to help you get started in planning the rest of your wedding.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in Event Management from the number one school of Hospitality in the nation, the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I studied Event Management in college and fell in love with weddings. I always knew that I wanted to have my own business, so that is what I worked toward. With This Ring Designs started off as a wedding blog, but my passion for wedding design was greater. From there, the business formed and now here we are.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I designed a wedding that had two themes merging into one. It was Beauty and the Beast meets Star Wars. The colors were dark pink, yellow, and black. I was intrigued with the challenge, and it came out incredible.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Even if you have no idea what you want, be willing to showcase your interests, likes and dislikes as much as possible. If you do know exactly what you want, give as much information as you can and allow the designer to get a crystal clear picture of your vision and offer some advice if needed. The goal is to execute YOUR dream wedding.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Begin thinking about the feel of wedding. This will play a lot into the choice of your venue and will help you decide which aspects of the wedding are most important to you and where more of your budget will be going. Go over the basics with your fiancé before seeking out any of your vendors, such as the number of people, season/date, and your budget.
