Happy Dogz Dog Training
About this pro
Jana was very good in helping us train our Vizsla puppy (and training us). We still use everything we learned nearly one year later with great success and have a very obedient dog thanks to these classes. The class size was small (we had one other dog in our class) and the take home sheets were helpful to remember commands and what to focus on. If your new to owning a dog I highly reccomend the puppy course.Aug 1, 2017VerifiedJana P.'s reply
It's so good to hear from you and know you are all well. I LOVE the pic!
My Labrador pulls when he walks on a leash I was seeking help for a more enjoyable walk. Jana came to our home so Lincoln could be trained in his environment and I thought that worked out very well. She came with lots of useful ideas and a walking harness that actually worked. Lincoln got lots of treats and positive attention and was a very happy dog by the time Jana left. I'm have some homework to do with him as it wasn't an overnight fix but I feel a lot more confident and I'm actually looking forward to walking my dog instead of dreading it.Jul 9, 2016Verified

If you're looking for a dog trainer who excells at providing instruction for both dog and owner, with documentation of such training, Jana's the trainer for you! Hiring a dog trainer via the Internet is a scary proposition; you won't go wrong when you hire Jana. She'll tailor the type of training to what your dog needs, and adjust the training location and schedule to fit into your busy schedule. My dog and I couldn't be more pleased.May 31, 2016Verified
Jana works with only 3 dogs per class. Her understate, humble approach is effective with dogs & people.Apr 21, 2016Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Due to the nature of private training, pricing is variable. Since need only one session; others need longer term work over a few months. Once I talk with a client, I can give a better idea of the cost involved.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I work closely with individuals and families to address their specific needs/desires. It all starts with information gathering on the phone and then assessing the needs and creating an individual plan of action the first time I meet with the person. Some clients only need one session; others need a longer term plan. I provide very detailed notes that are written specifically for each client...no cookie cutter feedback. I also provide email support for things covered in our session.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have earned the elite title of Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed. I am a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and am a certified C.L.A.S.S. evaluator for them. I have learned the art of dog training through years of practice. I keep on top of the latest research through continuing education programs such as my certification in Dog Emotion and Cognition through Duke University, Behavior Adjustment Training and more.
