Introduction: As a teaching artist, performer, and entrepreneur with unique experiences in both traditional and non traditional musical settings, I am passionate about making music accessible to students of any experience, background, and musical interests. I'm happy to work one-on-one towards your musical goals with you, and at your own pace. I know that I am supposed to be a teacher because it never feels like work! Alexis is an I incredible musician. I took lessons from Alexis for almost 4-5 years and the bond we created was so special, my talent and passion continued to grow throughout this time. She is so passionate about her music and will do anything to help her students succeed.

Alexis is a wonderful teacher. She takes it at a speed the student needs and is very understanding. If I didn't understand something, she took the time to go over it until I got it. She also likes to push whoever she is working with to become better and get closer to achieving their goals.

Alexis is an amazing mentor. Our 7yr old daughter blossomed around Alexis. Alexis taught our daughter about the core of the violin and reading music. They would spend time doing equations with the music notes. Alexis is very balanced with her teaching. She is firm yet offers a gentle encouraging touch. We miss her sooooo very much! She truly is a gem :)

30 minutes - $35 / 45 minutes - $40 / 60 minutes - $45
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to set very basic goals with my student right away, just to see how the student envisions his or herself progressing musically. Generally, with beginner students we work on ear-training as well as note-reading right away, eventually move into Suzuki Method as a sort of hybrid approach.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Lawrence Conservatory of Music in 2014 with a bachelors degree in Music Education and Violin Performance. After graduation, I started an after school program for beginner strings in my hometown of Marquette MI, and also became the director of the Upper Peninsula Youth Orchestra. In addition founded, managed, and performed in a local rock orchestra called Eclettico for five years.
