Introduction: My primary focus is new home design and light commercial, though my work includes renovations, additions, and interior design. My success is insuring that your ideas and building project goals are fully realized. I listen carefully and offer suggestions as appropriate, but the goal is to transform your vision into a final design. Michigan Licensed Architect with 25 years experience in residential and light commercial construction. After an initial email contact, a 10 to 20 minute phone conversation is typically the best way to get started, and I frequently make a site visit for an initial meeting with no obligation. Fees can be quoted by the project or by the hour. My low overhead and efficient workflow mean that you will be getting superior value and responsive services for an on-time and under budget project. I enjoy working with clients and transforming their ideas into reality.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically a 15-minute phone call will allow us to understand the project scope and timing. This is usually followed by on on-site meeting to discuss the project in more detail. A simple proposal document is submitted for approval and then I get started with a small retainer.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Masters degree in Architecture from the University of Virginia, followed by three years of internship and then State Licensing exams. Ongoing education classes in new materials and code changes are required.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Designed my first house in 10th grade. To my great surprise and delight, my parents built the house two years later!
