FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It really varies job to job. I like most, will figure how much time the job will take and the amount of materials I will need to provide for the task.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Corresponding a few times via email through Thumbtack is great. I'm not the fastest emailer because I don't glance at my phone enough to see them. I encourage perspective customers to call or text me if they feel comfortable doing do. If they want to continue emailing, that is fine, too. If they want to meet me, I'm open to that as well.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As far as lawn care, I'm overqualified for this line of work. I went to Michigan State University for a Turfgrass management degree, to train to be a golf course superintendent. After over 15 years of golf course work, I decided working for myself was the path I wanted to go. I love it. In the offseason, I work for a remodeling contractor part time and work odd jobs building furniture and fixing a variety of things for people. My dad was a carpenter and since a young age, have loved working with tools constructing and fixing things.
