FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a photography degree from Rochester Institute of Technology, a prestigious university known for having one of the top two photography programs in the country. I have 13 years of experience photographing weddings, families, children, babies, pets, commercial and still life/product shots. Prior to starting this business I was the in-house staff photographer for the legendary jewelry store TIVOL in Kansas City with work published in various magazines and printed on billboards across KC.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always adored photography, even when I was really young and terrible at it. My dad was an amateur photographer and got me hooked when I was about eight years old, growing up in the suburbs of Kansas City. I spent my childhood with pockets full of film and flash cubes and probably single-handedly kept our local 1-Hour Photo in business. As a child, I took summer enrichment classes to learn my way around the darkroom and in fourth or fifth grade began developing my own film and prints. I took photography classes all through high school and was a photographer on the yearbook staff, then majored in photography in college at a fantastic university. So I suppose you could say photography has been with me one way or another almost my whole life!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have had customers all across the board. I've worked with many different families, new parents wanting photos of their babies, engaged couples throughout the country, professionals needing business photos or head shots, companies needing product photography- basically people from all walks of life. I pride myself in being professional, dedicated and easygoing in every job that comes my way.
