Introduction: Jayson M. Thornton, CFP is a Financial Advisor, an accountant specializing in Tax & Financial Planning. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM professional licensed both as a Tax Advisor, enrolled to practice by the United States Department of Treasury and as a Investment Advisor with the State of Missouri. Thornton Advisor Group LLC serves individuals and small businesses. We handle tax compliance cases and wealth management; Tax Preparation, IRS Tax Debt Settlements and helping clients meet their financial goals. Jayson earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Missouri Valley College (Cum Laude, Honors Graduate) and his graduate certificate in Financial Planning from Howard University School of Business. Jayson takes great pride in representing clients before the government to resolve tax issues; including audits, collections and appeals. He has been recognized by the US Department of Treasury for his "Outstanding Contributions" in Tax Counseling. A Saint Louis native, Jayson graduated from McCluer North HS in 2002, he strives to stay active in community service. He is a member of the National Association of Black Accountants, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and the Financial Planning Association. In June of 2016 he was appointed to the City of Kirkwood's Finance Committee by Mayor Timothy Griffin. In 2017 Jayson was named one of the Best Accountants in the City of St. Louis by St. Louis Small Business Monthly. He was honored as one of 20 outstanding African American professionals under the age of 40, by the St. Louis American Foundation. In 2019 Jayson and THORNTON Advisor Group LLC was voted BEST Accounting Firm of the St. Louis Metro Area by St. Louis Small Business Monthly, he also won Missouri's #1 Top Rated Financial Advisor award for 2019. In 2020 Jayson was named to the Association of African American Financial Advisors 50 Under 50 list. In 2021 Jayson was Voted one of the BEST ACCOUNTANTS in St. Louis by the readers of St. Louis Small Business Monthly.
