Amazing Magic with Professor Z
About this pro
The kids loved Norm’s show. It was a big hit. He was responsive and came on time. He did great managing a big crowd of kids and made them all balloon hats or animals. Thanks Norm!Mar 11, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Three packages for Birthday Parties. All detailed on the website link... For fairs and festivals it is based on the number of shows per day. School assemblies as well as school carnivals and fund raisers are also based on number of shows etc. I keep my price competitive with the hobby magicians and amateurs. - they do good shows, but I bring the full time professional experience for around the same rate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like when the customer calls and we spend a bit of time together on the phone to discuss what they need and see if what I do might make their event extra special - - and they often say, "you sound like the most fun... I want to book you." We can discuss the programs I offer and see how it fits their needs best. The free 15 minute consultation is a great way for the potential client to see what I am about and sort of interview me to see if it is a good match. I stay very busy so I do not need to do high pressure push to buy. If it is a good fit the customer is very glad they called. I want to encourage them to see the reviews and video and see the quality and make an informed decision for themselves - there is no pressure. I am happy as over and over again people are so positive about the show after they have seen it. It is my joy to make special events extra special.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have had years of training at magic conventions and seminars by professionals. for 15 years now I have been invited to teach and perform at magician's conventions. They like my innovative methods and ideas. I also teach comedy writing classes and improv comedy. This is my way to give back to the world of magic and help others get better at their craft. I have most recently taught in Hawaii and the president of the Society of American Magicians wrote."Norm made us laugh until we cried with his unique style of comedy magic while lecturing for our magic club here on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. He is without a doubt one of the hardest working magicians out there and we would love for him to return for another lecture and show!" - Michael "Kekoa" Erickson S.A.M. Aloha Assembly #89 President/Close-Up magic consultant for the Magic Of Polynesia I have taught and performed at the magic convention in Hawaii two other times. They must like it - they are a wonderful group of magicians. In the 1980's I toured for agents that had me doing 14-16 shows per week in High Schools and elementaries. It was very fun and rewarding to see this great country and perform in every state. These tours gave me training that no class could give. I learned to be original, use comic timing and be highly entertaining. I did those tours for 14 years and you simply don't get invited back unless you have a quality act. Many years I was the top rated program on the circuit. A great training ground to polish a performer. My wife got tired of the long tours and so we settled back here in our Minnesota home. Since then I worked in the Minneapolis area bringing entertainment to company parties, scouts, festivals, fairs and schools. I also recently taught and performed at comedy entertainer's conventions in Texas and Orlando.
