First off, i just want to say these guys were incredible!! This is the 4th moving company that I have used in the last 6 years, and none have even slightly compared to ASAP. From beginning to end the process was very pleasant. They told me I would hear from them the morning of the move when they were on their way to my home with an ETA, which they did. They showed up on time. They were actually a few minutes early. John the owner was really nice. He introduced his crew to me and my family, did a quick walk thru, and they jumped right into moving all of the (70-80) boxes on to the truck. But the next part is what sold me on this company, THESE GUYS TREATED EVERY PIECE I OWN BETTER THAN I WOULD MYSELF!!! After moving out all of the boxes to free up space in the crowed maze of boxes they proceeded to bring in bundles of moving pads and tape. THEY WRAPPED AND PROTECTED EVERYTHING... Couches, TVs, beds, bureaus, glass, and mirrors. Pretty quickly too. Which I was amazed and honestly quite happy to see them do. Seeing how the previous 3 companies did nothing like that, ultimately scratching my bed frame one time and another company broke a glass lamp. To say the least I Was very pleased to see NOTHING BROKEN, AND NOTHING SCRATCHED AFTER THEY UNLOADED.. I can't say enough about these guys. They were on time, worked at an extremely fast pace, were kind and professional at all times, competitive rates, and most importantly DIDN'T BREAK ANYTHING!!! I will be recommending these guys to everyone.. You can use whoever you want when you move, I know who I'll be calling AGAIN!!!! THANKS ASAP..

John, Mike & Damon packed my kitchen up and I couldn't stress enough to them how fragile & irreplacable my wife's crystal was. John more than reassured me that everything would be handle with care just like it was their own personal belonings. Each box they packed was neatly labeled with my last name, room it was from and the contents in the box. I was really impressed with how they organzied & labeled each box, since I had to go into storage with them for the winter months. John told me they do that incase I need to access any of the boxes while in storage I know which one is which. I kept being a worry wart especially with this being my first time ever that I've put my personal possesions in the care of someone other than myself. John & his crew kept reassuring me that everything was going to be fine and most importantly safe. They shrink wrapped my mattress & even my box spring (which surprised me) to protect it while in storage from dust. When I purchased my new home my closing happened really quick then I called John to tell him I would like to move within the following two weeks or so, he had no problems what so ever to accomadate my needs once again. After they unpacked all my kitchen boxes and got my kitchen completely organized (which I'm so glad I had them do) It was like I was living there for awhile. They reassembled all my furniture that had to be disassembled - I must say I was extremely impressed they didn't need directions to put the stuff back together, nor did they even loss a single screw!!! I can't say enough about how accomadating, stragetic, motivated & hard workers these guys were. If I ever need another moving company I will not hestitate to contact these guys again!! Oh and most importantly ALL of my wife's irreplaceable crystal family heirlooms made it all in one piece and not a single item was broken!!! I will be telling everyone I know that needs movers about ASAP Moving and how great they are!!!

The price did not suit the job. I paid more than $300 in order to move a bed set and couch set to another apartment in my complex that was less than .5 miles away. Very lightweight and quick move that was not worth the cost. A truck was not needed or utilized.

Chau-Le we were quite shocked to see that you wrote a 2 star review for us at ASAP Moving & Storage. As far as we knew you were satisfied with the services that you received. You stated that you "paid more than $300 in order to move a bed set & couch set" It's just not an accurate depiction of what actually took place so I would like to clarify this situation. First, you make it sound like you only had 2 pieces. The final charges that you paid for was $270 for the services provided. Your total bill came out to $310, you were given a $40 discount in addition to the discounted rate of $80/per hour. We went off your word that no truck was needed. If we were given the opportunity to do a formal walk through (which we weren't because we received your call after hours on a Friday night needing services by 10:00 am the following morning) we never would of agreed to do the job without a truck. You were on the 2nd floor and were going to the 3rd floor (walking up & down stairs does take time). Now to clarify the "bed set" that consisted of head/foot board, mattress & box spring, 2 dressers, night stands & mirror. Moving onto the "couch set" which consisted of standard 3 seat couch, love seat, 2 end tables, a coffee table and lamps. We pad wrapped and protected all of your furniture, like we do on every job. When all said and done, we walked a total of about 3 miles back and forth transferring your possessions on dollies. The total billable hours was 3 hours and 15 minutes. Which included drive time of (50+ miles/ 1 hour and 15 min. total drive time from Charlestown, MA to Abington, MA, and then back to Charlestown, MA) I feel that me and my guy worked pretty fast bringing all of your belongings on foot with dollies in 2 hours. ASAP Moving & Storage takes pride in the work that we offer to our customers and our reviews reflect our business and this review is just inaccurate and unfair. Typically if there is any reason that our customers are not happy (which rarely happens) we do whatever we can to rectify the situation prior to leaving.

ASAP helped me through a somewhat last minute, after hours move from my apartment in the south end to my new place in Cambridge. I had one particularly challenging couch that they dedicated themselves to getting out of, and subsequently into, doorways that were not designed to accommodate the passage of such an item. They were on time, polite and professional. They took great care with all of my items -- literally wrapped everything. I would highly recommend John and ASAP to anyone looking for professional moving help.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Upon being contacted by a customer we will ask some initial questions to try to get an idea of what type of items the customer has for the move. ASAP's customer service rep will then let the customer know how many guys we will be sending along with the hourly rate and fuel & toll cost. After the customer agrees to the pricing we will then send them a Client Consent Agreement via email. The customer will then review the Client Consent Agreement and electronically consent agreeing to the terms and conditions of the move. ASAP's customer service rep will then contact the client approximately a week prior to the move to make sure everything is still on track. On the day of the move our Crew Chief will contact the client with an ETA while they are in route to the job. Once arriving on site the crew chief will do a walk through with the customer and have the customer sign the Bill of Lading to start the job. Upon completion of the job the crew chief will finalize the total charges on the Bill of Lading then present and review the final bill with the customer.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
We are 3rd generation movers coming from a long line of successful moving companies that were family owned & operated on the North Shore for the last 40 plus years. I started moving furniture with my uncle's business R.D. Williams & Son based out of Marblehead during the summers while in high school. That is where I was taught the skills and techniques that are mandatory to know when on a moving job. Not to many years after that my father decided to go out on his own. That is when I learned to drive the trucks and properly pack & secure peoples possessions on the truck to ensure safe transport. After my father retired from the moving industry and moved out of state, I found myself working for one of Boston's Elite Moving Companies. A few years later ASAP Moving & Storage was founded and I haven't looked back since.
