Seems very knowledgeable about the voice and I definitely learned a lot, even from my first lesson.Nov 8, 2018Verified
Amy is a very patient teacher who always explains what she does and why, and she clearly knows what she's doing. I have already learned a lot in just two lessons.Jun 19, 2017Verified
Beware of double standards. Her contract states that if you have to cancel within 7 days that you will be charged. Unfortunately, she does not abide by her own standard and cancelled within 24 hours of a session. When I gave 3 days notice of a cancellation she still charged me for the session even after her own last minute cancellation. This lack of customer service is saddening and unnecessary.May 28, 2017VerifiedAmy Kuefler MM's reply
My cancellation policy treats situations of illness and schedule changes differently. I do require a week's notice due to changes in a student's schedule (i.e. traveling, accommodating for other appointments etc) and I will make every effort to reschedule. Cancellations due to illness must simply be received the day prior. My policies are provided in writing to each student, and accepted by each student verbally and in writing of their own volition. On the rare occasion that I need to cancel last minute due to an emergency I do make every effort to reschedule. I do not charge a student if I cancel and we are unable to reschedule for a mutually beneficial time.
Amy is a fantastic teacher. She works well with kids, she relates well with them and sets realistic expectations. She's very well-trained and very professional.Apr 3, 2017Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I typically teach weekly 50 minute lessons and charge $55/lesson. I have a growing number of students who take twice weekly lessons.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? In the first lesson with a new student I would want to asses their goals and discuss any vocal frustrations or difficulties they may have had in the past. I would then begin warm-up exercises so that I can hear their voice and identify strengths and weaknesses. Based on those strengths and weaknesses I would develop a plan for that student to continue developing their strengths while strengthening their weaknesses to keep the voice in balance. If the student has brought a song with them to the first lesson I would want to hear it and then work on it. If not we would work together to choose an appropriate song to work on in the coming weeks.
