Introduction: I love telling visual stories. A background in journalism, combined with more than eight years of experience in photography and film, has enabled me to do so in a creative and authentic way. I take your vision and my creativity and produce a beautiful product for you or your business. Having worked with clients like Outdoor Research, Microsoft, magazines and more, I have experience in an array of fields and am always looking to expand. I love being involved in every part of the process. Planning out your vision, scoping out locations, shooting amazing landscapes from a drone or quick action in slow motion, and finally bringing it all back to the studio for editing. Both photography and film are time intensive processes, but that’s part of the reason I love it so much. It’s an adventure from beginning to end. Each project is a little different, and with those differences I grow as an artist.

I was lucky enough to have Elise shoot both my engagement session and my wedding. Not only were the photos absolutely breathtaking, she also captured the personalities of my husband and I better than I could have imagined. As someone who has worked with photographers every day for the last ten years for my profession, I can comfortably say that Elise has the best eye of any photographer I've ever met, and I will continue to use her for important life events. Elise has a talent for telling a story with photos, and she perfectly captured the spirit of my wedding day down to the last detail. Because we got married in Alaska, most of our friends and loved ones were unable to make it, but we were told multiple times by people who weren't in attendance that through her photos and accominying video, they felt like they were there. The video she made from clips she took throughout the day is my most prized possession without a doubt, and every time I watch it I am instantly transported back to those moments. I cannot sing her praises enough.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I’ve loved taking photos for as long as I can remember. In high school, my friend wanted to be a model, and I wanted to be a photographer. So, we started creating our own shoots. We’d go to local parks, find abandoned buildings, and even stand on the side of freeways to “get the perfect shot.” Eventually my love for photography evolved into photojournalism, then to marketing and now freelance. I enjoy capturing special moments authentically through natural light and movement.
