The data on my hard drive is not currently recoverable, except by a (very expensive) forensic data recovery operation, which is beyond PittPC's current capabilities. Johnny clearly explained my options to me; since he was unable to recover my information, there was no charge. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Onsite service is charged at 80.00 an hour at an hour minimum with a 50.00 transportation fee. Transportion fee may be waived if within 20 mile radius. Remote or telephone support is charged at 20.00 for every 15 minutes at a 15 minute minimum. Most remote problems or small jobs can be solved in under 15mins.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?This first step is listening to my customers, then introducing technology solutions that will fit my customer best.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I earned my degree in computer science from Pittsburgh Technical College. Prior to making PittPC my full-time endeavor, I managed Computer Works in Lawrenceville for 8 years. I also have several years experience as a network engineer for a tier one internet-data center. I was instrumental in designing and implementing the network security-computer forensics lab at Pittsburgh Technical College. I have volunteered my time to the Computer Reach Program, which helps to bring computers to developing countries and I’ve also worked with The Boys and Girls Club, teaching children computer safety and creative use.
