Zara is absolutely fabulous, and easily our favorite photographer to date (including engagement, wedding, newborn and 4 month photo shoots). We recently moved to LA and I wish we could have had Zara for our previous events as well. We met her just before our daughter's one year birthday party and miraculously she was available for our date! We booked her for two hours of party photos, including a family photo shoot during those two hours, since my in-laws were in town and we really wanted professional photos of us all together. We were a little worried about how cramped we might be, since at the last minute we moved from outside to inside our tiny apartment. Zara handled it with ease and somehow managed to make our place even appear much larger in photos than it actually is! Didn't look cramped at all :) She has an eye for detail and caught such beautiful moments that we didn't even realize occured in the frenzy of the party. She captured perfect moments with all our guests and the candid photos were so fun. Her suggestions about where/how to pose for the family photos were perfect and felt completely natural for us. She had a vision for the day that matched us perfectly and will provide the best memories for years to come. We can't wait to use her again!

We had Zara as our photographer for our baby shower this past weekend! She already sent us the full set of edited photos less than 4 days after our event. The quick turn-around is greatly appreciated since other photographers we have used before can take up to a month to get the photos back to you. Upon request, she was even able to send us a sneak peek of a few of the photos. She arrived on time, got to work right away, captured all the special moments throughout the event, and was constantly taking photos through the end of the event. She pays close attention to the details including the lighting, colors, background, poses, and corrects anything that looks out of place. She was able to capture a beautiful group photo with over 30 of our girlfriends- usually group photos are a big challenge but she helped to gather everyone together for it. She made sure I got photos with all my friends who attended and was even flexible when friends asked her to take photos of them on their phones. Zara was truly a pleasure to have at our event and we would highly recommend her to everyone for their future events. One of our friends already had her photograph their baby's 1st birthday and she was also really happy with the photos! Wish we new Zara before our wedding so we could have had her do our engagement and wedding too! We are definitely going to have Zara photograph all our future family photos- can't wait to have her do my newborn photos in a few months :)

I have a BA in photojournalism and over 5 years experience as a photographer and a retoucher.
I went in the direction of fine art after school and have been focusing on creative photography while incorporating my photojournalism training.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Photography has been my passion since I was a small child and I couldn't imagine doing anything else for a living.
