I promised myself that I would take piano lessons when I could finally find time to fit it in. And I am so glad I did. Douglas Loomis is an excellent teacher. I have been studying for a little more than 3 years now (I am an adult) and I have grown by leaps and bounds. Douglas is a very caring teacher. But he also insists on students learning to play musically and with the correct technique. Douglas communicates and demonstrates musical concepts so that students can grasp the ideas and incorporate them into their playing. My 10-year-old son has been taking piano lessons from Douglas Loomis for a couple of years. Like any child, his interest in piano has wavered. Douglas has been patient and encouraging throughout. Changing up the music to keep him interested at the same time focusing on proper technique and flow of musical sound. Two years on, my son now loves piano, actually plays it at home every day even if it's just for a few minutes. He actually jumps from book one to book 3, my son is thrilled! We have had many piano teachers and Douglas Loomis is one of the better teachers. He is engaging and talks to the students. His love of piano and passion comes through his teachings.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first have an interview and a free lesson with the potential student amd parents during which I assess the student's level of ability and determine our compatibility.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in piano performance in addition to one-on-one training with a master teacher.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with students from age 4 to 70's. I enjoy teaching all ages.
