FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a fixed price for most of my services. In the fairly rare cases where the extent of the effort really can't be determined up front, I charge $75/hour, where you authorize a "not to exceed" number of hours up front. ALL estimates are given in writing, and you approve ALL work and charges in writing before I do it...there are no surprises.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To keep your and my costs down, and to avoid wasting your and my time, I gather as much info. as possible via a phone call and texting/emailing pics. I can almost always quote you a price based on your answers to my questions, and you sending me pics of what needs to be done. On those very rare occasions where I'd have to come out to understand what it is you need done (has never happened to date), I quote an hourly labor rate for the work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My college degrees are in computer science and mathematics, and I used those degrees in professional jobs for 18 years. I've been "handy" all of my life, working with my father as a teenager to build our own house from scratch and to renovate many houses, spending the past 14 years buying and renovating 40+ homes for resale, and continuing to manage/repair 20+ rental properties today.
