What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Consultation, estimate, project development including objectives, time-frame and cost.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I wrote my first BASIC program in 1994, build my first website in 2000 and recovered data off the first hard disk drive in 2002. These two major skills, software development and custom/specialty electronics continued to define my career path ever since.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Over the years, everyone. End-users, businesses, organizations and government.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
HDD Serial Commander (dot) com was the most recent one. It is a free software that translates hard disk serial commands to English? You can also create a queue and issue the set of diagnostic commands to hard disk drive.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
For the creative part look for someone who you can easily share your idea with. In case you are looking for data retrieval there are many places advertising to perform this service with ease but only handful use professional non-destructive methods.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Objectives, critical files/folders to recover, time-frame and budget.
