Reiki Samadhi

Introduction: Matt Russell, founder of Reiki Samadhi, began practicing Usui Reiki in 2012, while living and working in a Zen Buddhist monastery in the Catskill Mountains. He originally received Reiki from a good friend at the monastery who happened to be a Reiki Master, and, after feeling the wonderful healing benefit of the practice, sought to become a Reiki Master himself. He trained with his good friend for a few years, although she eventually left the monastery. At this point Matthew had grasped the intermediate level of Reiki and he desired to learn more, but there was no teacher at the Monastery at that time. Therefore, he decided to try an the Chikara Reiki Do online course; despite a healthy amount of early skepticism, he found that he was able to sense the energy through the attunements, and felt confident in the online Master level course. Auspiciously, soon thereafter Hyakuten Inamoto Sensei, the founder of the Komyo Reiki Do tradition, began holding annual Komyo Reiki Master retreats at the Monastery. Matthew was drawn to the simplicity and clarity of the Komyo Reiki Style, the emphasis on Reiki as a method for attaining Satori (enlightenment), as well as the strength of the Reiki energy that flowed from Hyakuten Sensei. In 2015, while studying with Hyakuten Sensei, Matthew became a Shihan (Master-Teacher) in the Komyo Reiki Do tradition. I absolutely love sharing Reiki.
