FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's hard to set a standard. I have a general price/sq.ft. that I work with. But each home is so different that it may fluctuate on a case by case basis. Some projects end up taking extra effort/time that needs to be compensated. Then there's some that we call "cake jobs". Once in a while the layout is just set up to move fast and easy. In those special situations the price could potentially drop based on ease of installation.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It always starts with a face to face consultation. I like to see what kind of project I'm working with to be sure that it's: 1. A project that I am capable of providing a satisfactory finished product. 2. Worth my time and the homeowners hard-earned money to complete. From there we will discuss prices and materials that you had in mind. We will look at sample boards and then I like to give as much time as you need to make a confident decision. When you are ready we will order the materials which usually takes about 2-3 days to arrive and then schedule installation.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
10+ years on the job and a solid group of experienced mentors. I believe it's the best way to learn.
