- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing system is based on labor rates as we don't generally sell prints (but can!). For event coverage and private portrait or party sessions we charge a flat $150 per hour, which covers all on and off site time. Other work we perform such as professional head shots, product photography, and other general commercial photography is based on a flat rate per delivered image. Typically head shots start at $40 and depending on the exact needs product photography starts at $25. Large jobs or group work can be discounted, please ask us!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is to determine a customer's needs. Sometimes this is very fast, like if they need a head shot for business use or to schedule some personal family photos. Other times we need to sit down and figure out exactly what's best. For instance with photos of a business's products or services we need to make sure they accurately and best represent the business while being aware of any trends in the industry.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I spent 4 years at UAH studying photography in their fantastic art department. Much of my time was spent working with film photography, both more modern in nature and with large view cameras. Even though film photography isn't something that is really done anymore for business use it required me to put in thought and planning since you get one shot and you can't just look at a display immediately.
