The Painting Preacher

Never had any problems with any other jobs, until this one!!! I left a written quote while the two rooms upstairs wasn't finished. The quote was for $ 100 to paint the bedroom. $50 to paint the ceiling and $25 to paint the trim. None of the rooms had drywall. She told me that the bathroom would be mostly tile and there wouldn't be much to paint in there. So I quoted $50 to do the walls, $25 to do ceiling and $50 to do the trim. $300 for the whole job. She called me a month and asked if I could paint a bedroom downstairs and I told her I would do it for $150. She added the kitchen trim to the job! She also wanted the stairway in the front room painted for the $150 that I quoted on the phone. I explained to her I couldn't have stuff added to jobs. She said that the kitchen trim was on the original quote I gave her for $25. (She lied) I told her if I put it on the quote I would paint the kitchen trim. When I got home and looked at the quote there wasn't any such thing. I asked her to send me a picture of the quote and she never responded. I had to send her the run down of the quote that I had before she responded. She said the kitchen trim wasn't on the original quote. She said "I just told you that." So I told her I would only do what the tumbtack quote said since we had a misunderstanding. She told me I was being unprofessional!!! She said " I included the kitchen trim" when we agreed on the downstair bedroom. (She lied) I told her that I was only doing the original quote on thumbtack. I had already had 2 guys and my self working on the job that day. This all happened after that day. She said she didn't want me in her house anymore. I told her that was fine but asked if she would only pay me for the ceiling paint I had to get for her. I told her that I was booking another job Monday if she didn't want me to finish. She told me she would like me to finish. I also had to buy another gallon of paint for her to finish. I showed up Monday on time because someone had to let me in. She asked me to text her 30 mins before I finished the job. I went to lunch and came back and she was there. So I sent her a text 30 minutes before I finished and she came up and had me do some touch ups and paid me. So I don't know what happened between then and now but they ain't happy with the job. The drywall in that house is bad, the walls are bowed and she paid me for the job. Please note that I never quoted doors on the original quote because there wasn't any. When I showed up a month later they have 7 doors up. I charge extra for doors and every painter I know does. Because we had gone back and forth already about the kitchen trim and the staircase she wanted painted for free, I didn't want to upset her anymore and painted two coats on the doors. I would also add the the baseboards are like 10 inches tall with shoe molding. I believe when Mr. Howard showed up he wasn't happy with the paint job for whatever reason. (He also wasn't happy with the tile job the tile guys did either.) He told her not to pay them full price. He called me the day after she paid me and wanted me to come back and try to fix the lines on the bowed walls and that the doors (I painted for free) only had 1 coat. I told him I would come back and try to fix the lines and some how he thought I was going to paint a third coat on the doors. I was going to try to fix the lines that were good for three days and now are no good. He sent me a message and said he was canceling the check she gave me because I was being difficult. I'm not sure these folks could be made happy!!! They expect you to do free work and pay you, only to cancel the check. The check they cancelled was also renibursing me for two gallons of paint I purchased for their house.
