Mr. Little arrived several hours late for the first call. He had a helper with him that did the work. A part was removed from our fireplace that we were told was bad. This was the first week of December. Mr..
Little looked on the internet and quoted me a price for the part. Said it had to be ordered. Without the part on our fireplace we can not close the damper meaning we have barely survived 2 deep freezes. The cold air coming through the open fireplace has caused us to have to tape objects over the opening ruining my Christmas decorations. We are an elderly couple living on a fixed income. I paid Mr. Little $95.00 for the service call and he quoted me the price of $164 for the part. I wrote Mr. Little 2 separate check. He wanted the check for the part written separately and in his name. If he could find the price for the part at that time, why can't he locate the part now. The only time I hear from Mr. Little about the repair is when I contact him. Then his responses have been I can't locate the part and his men are working on it. I have told Mr. Little I would like a refund of the money for the part and that I no longer want his services. This is going into the 7th week of waiting for him to locate the part. I have used Thumbtack several times before and have always had great response and services. Mr. Little in my opinion is not Thumbtack material. Someone with Mr. Littles attitude and repair ethics can easily mar the good name of Thumbtack. As a matter of fact I need a fireplace repair person and feel a little reluctance of using your services now. Also, in the beginning of this nightmare Mr. Little was constantly online. Now when I check, he is hardly ever on. As a matter of fact it is 2:30 pm our time and he hasn't been on line since yesterday. There is no contacting him online and I prefer everything in writing not on the phone at this stage of the problem. Thank you Connie Rhule
