I recently moved and had two kids going off to college. The amout of 'stuff' I had of my two children who were now leaving was unbelievable. Clothes, books, papers of 12 years of school, photograph albums, 18 years of accumulated piles that left me feeling overwhelmed and completely stuck with a big huge mess. I looked online to see if I could find somebody to help me with this enormous task. After researching many different options I called Bernie and she was wonderful on the phone. Telling me that I did not have to worry she would be able to take care of ALL of it for me. I immediately felt better and asked her how soon she could come over. She came right away!! She was Proffesional and made me feel completely confident in her ability to take care of my 'life' The next day Bernie came back bright and early to face this challenge. After only one hour I could see that this was going to be excellent. She got to work and took care of absolutely everthing. In no time I was looking at an immaculate brand new room. She had given me storage tips and advice along the way about what to keep, what to dispose of and how to store it all. I had been procrastinating doing this job for months and in a few hours it was completely done. I felt so elated and overjoyed. Bernie had done the most incredibe job, I couldnt even believe how relieved and happy I was. I LOVE Bernie. I will now call her anytime to make my life easy and simple. She is 100% reliable and wonderful to have in my home. I cant tell you how much I appreciate having found her. I would like to recommend Bernie to anybody who has any of these needs. Bernie was an amazing help to me! She helped me get my stuff organized and manageable – which was something I could not do on my own. I was overwhelmed by it and didn’t even know where to begin. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I want the client to know that there is no judgment on my part, only a great desire to help them to find what organization/decluttering system works for them. I know that life happens and somehow, we start accumulating things and then all of the sudden, there is chaos, and nothing has a place, or most likely there is no place for anything else. The solution is simple, you have to get rid of the things you don't use. And that's when I come into the picture. It is so much easier to have company when organizing and decluttering. You are not alone and you will feel invigorated to get your home organized and decluttered.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was born this way. I have always been an organized woman. I also happen to have twins, and I knew that if I didn't have a system in place, my home would be in complete disarray. I want to live with what I use, and the rest doesn't have a place in my house. I'm not perfect. Sometimes I buy things I don't need, but at least I try to think before an impulsive buy by asking myself if I really need that item in my life or if it will make me happy having it... Most of the time, I end up not buying it.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Life happened, and I started feeling overwhelmed with all the STUFF that was everywhere. So I decided to get rid of everything that I wasn't using. It felt so good to declutter and reorganize my home, that I thought, I can do this, I can help other people to feel good again, and to teach them how to maintain an organized their homes.
