FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process includes making sure the customer makes the right decisions about what they want and what colors and types of materials used. Example if the customer wants a roof and doesn't care about cost I suggest the roofing material that will last the longest not the roof that I can make the most money installing.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have training in the building trades area as well as 13 plus years of on the job experience, not only can I do carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical and painting, drywall, and concrete but my stepdad also owns and operates a flooring business and I can do tile floors, showers, hardwood and linoleum. I leave the carpet installation up to him but I'm very skilled at the other 3 types of flooring mentioned.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got started doing this type of work helping my uncle by working with contractor on a 3 million dollar home on lake Champlain that my uncle caretakes when I was 17years old I am now 30. I was helping the contractor do finish work in the basement of the new home. We put maple flooring in, butternut Wayne's coat, acoustic blocker membrane behind Sheetrock/Wayne's coat on the walls of this basement as it was gonna be the movie room/pool room of this multi million dollar home. After helping with this project I immediately fell in love with carpentry/contracting work and began working for another contractor on many restoration projects in historic Essex NY as well as additions, decks, kitchen/bathroom remodels, roofs, window/door installs and much much more. Most recently we did a bathroom remodel in a historic home in which we gutted entire bathroom, did plaster repair/removal, all new plumbing replacing copper pipes with pex plumbing, re-leveled the old unlevel floor and also redid 3 other rooms on second story of this beautiful home in Essex NY.
