Introduction: Quick Note - I have bar work elsewhere at an establishment I've worked at for many years here in town as well as other clients and services outside of Thumbtack, so I make myself available here whenever I can. That's the main reason why my reviews may not be in the dozens, aside from the fact that I don't always push for them. And although it may look like I don't get much work here, I actually do each month. It may say only a couple hires, but not all customers here click-on the "You're Hired" button. Some just make contact through the number I leave for them in my bidding message. Thumbtack already gets their monies so, it becomes the customer's choice how they want to proceed. I can't control that sort of thing.
A stellar reputation of professional experience and service behind the bar having worked hundreds of private/freelance bar gigs for various clients, community events, parties of all kinds, weddings, caterers, event planners and brand-sponsored events all around Los Angeles over several years. I have my own custom portable bar set-up complete with black linens and many extras available when needed, for an extra fee. Since I have a truck, I can also pick-up Ice on the way to the gig if necessary, at no extra charge.
I have my California Food Handler Card
(CBM) Bar/Beverage Management certification through:
International Food Service Executives Association (IFSEA)
American Hotel and Motel Association (A.H & M.A.)
Beverage Management Institute (BMI)
L.E.A.D. certified – Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs
Bartender certification – American Bartending School – Phoenix, AZ
There is no such thing as a bartender license.
In addition to working basic bars at parties and events that may be just beer & wine or that along with basic mixed drinks, of which I equally enjoy doing, upon client request or interest I also like upping the craft work with customizing cocktails to wow the guests when they least expect it to where it's a visual, apothecary experience at the bar. So as well as making all the basic mixed drinks, I'll re-create the Classic cocktails like my Derby-style "Walk in the Woods" Old Fashioned, my special Ginny Southsides, Custom Sidecars, La Palomas, Sangrias, my variation on the Pimm's Cup called Cool Brittannia, Scotch O'Clocks, Aperol Spritzers, or my super-modified 12-Fruit Cosmos. I have the largest bar kit in Los Angeles, therefore I can do a lot with it. That makes all the difference !
I love sharing and educating at another level for the inquisitive. I have many published works and used to write for the industry magazines for 10 years. After many early years working for establishments and operations both corporate and independent, my preference these days is to work private/on-call/freelance where i can meet new people all the time. I like being mobile where I'm in Malibu one night, and Studio City or Hollywood the next.
