FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The methods and best practices for arboricilture are constantly evolving. As an owner operator, it's my sole responsibility to stay up to date on all areas of tree care. Most importantly safety. Tree work is very unforgiving when a mistake is made. Whether it's working at height climbing, cutting limbs on the ground, or operating a brush chipper or stump grinder, any mistake is likely to be very serious to people and/or property. Fortunately, I make it my priority to stay current with the latest information available through organizations including the International Society of Arboricilture (ISA) as well as the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA).
- What types of customers have you worked with?
In my 5+ years as a full time tree care professional I have worked with many clients including private residential homeowners, commercial businesses, as well as several large Homeowners Associations (HOA). One particular large HOA project required the removal of over 60 infested Ash trees in the Aurora area. Another large HOA project required pruning over 50 trees of varying species in the Orland Park area. The culmination of working with various clients in arboricilture has been an invaluable experience. It has helped me refine my business to truly meet the needs of my clients.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
My most recent favorite project was just last week! (May 2017) My new neighbor had a tree damaged after a storm that same week. The tree's main trunk section had split off due to high winds. This left 2 sections of the remaining tree dangerously unstable. If either had failed, one section would have fallen toward her and another neighbors home. It would have certainly caused major damage. I offered my services with a generous "Neighborly Discount" and she hired me to remove what remained of the tree. What I was most fond of was the thank you card and hand written note. It's not very often someone takes the time to hand write a personal thank you for the hard work and job well done I perform everyday. (Thanks again Peggy!)
