FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have two base rates. $20/hour if the client provides their own supplies and equipment. $25/hour if I bring my own supplies and equipment. I charge $5.00/hour extra for services like oven cleaning, refrigerator cleaning and interior window cleaning. My rates are flexible and I am wiling to work with the client on a case by case basis. Also, the initial cleaning typically takes longer if the home/office/apartment has not been cleaned recently and therefor most likely will result in a higher initial total cost. Typically, bathrooms and kitchens take longer than bedrooms and living areas. I use a 3 step cleaning process in bathrooms and kitchens. 1. Removing visible dirt, stains, etc..2. Disinfecting. 3. Shining and polishing.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I acquire information about what is important to the client and the services they require, the regularity and frequency of service. Also, any special requests now and in the future. We decide on a day and time. I discuss all aspects of their desires and expectations. I explain to them that I am flexible in regards to the frequency, day, time and costs. I explain that I am willing to work with someone who has a need for cleaning but may be limited to what they can spend and how often.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a nurse for many years and as such had training and implementation of the importance of disinfecting and removing bacteria to maintain well being and health of people. I grew up having a full time housekeeper and had housekeepers myself for most of my adult life. I observed what they did and learned what they did that I liked and also what I didn't like. When I came home from work after the housekeeper had been there I would do the "white glove" test. Most of the time I would clean the house before they came and after they were finished. I've had a few wonderful housekeepers and some who spent all their time outside smoking and doing the little tricks they use to make it "look" clean but it really wasn't. Those were let go. As for the ones who were excellent, I followed their example and implemented my own process. It has worked well for me.
