- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was always told to reinvest, at minimum, 20% back into yourself and your company. I continue to do that today. I spend roughly 4-6 hours per week researching, reading, testing and learning. Whether that is in a classroom setting or on my own, I make sure that I stay up to date on the latest tools and trends of the industry.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I worked in the retail industry for a large big box corporation and say the mistakes they were making in their attempts at creating product labels, their own business cards, etc. I wanted to know if I could do it better. So, I asked a friend if I could re-design their business card and some brochures. I did - they loved it and some of the people/businesses they interacted with requested my services.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common job that I do for my clients is clean up. Most of them have been burned in the past with either a designer that took off or a finished product that was not what they asked for - nor paid for. I also do a lot of work with clients who already have a web presence, but need to take it to the next level.
