- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After an initial respond to a quote, I usually ask for more info or a picture, I’ll send a quote. Then if hired we plan on a meeting place and go from there. For basic alterations/tailoring needs my typical turn around time is one week; depending on my work load. I also offer to do rush work, for an additional fee. But for custom for extensive work: I will consult with the client about the work that is needed (usually ask will ask questions and ask for inspiration pictures) and determine if I can/cannot take on the work. I will then discuss deadlines I need to meet. We will see if a second meet up is required, for fittings or adjustments. I recommend second fittings for most complex tailoring work, and schedule the second fitting before the deadline given.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In high school I took 4 yrs of apparel production, where I really picked up my sewing skills. I continue on with 2 years of fashion design at El Centro College to n downtown Dallas. I planned on transferring to a university in California, although as life would have it, things happened and changed my plans. My tailoring career began in 2005 at a men's clothing store, Pocket's Menswear, a luxury clothier. Here I was given the opportunity to put my skills into practice.
