FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
my fees are based on the job requirements and the customers preference. i can work on a time and material basis or for a contracted price
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
my typical process is to meet with my customers and try to listen to what it is they are looking for and expecting from me. once that is estsblished i try to create a project plan that fits their budget and their expectations. it is indeed a process as sometimes budget and expectations have to be realistically merged
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
i have over 35 years of experience in the various building trades. i have done apprenticeships with 2 contractors. one of whom was a home builder and the other was and still is a mechanicals contractor. I did a 5 year apprenticeship with the latter and earned my refrigeration license. i am now licensed to install and service heat pumps, air conditioners and refrigeration equipment. i have also trained as an electrician and a plumber for the same period. for 5 years I lived and worked in Arlington Virginia as a project manager for bluestone builders overseeing the construction of multi million dollar homes in the Washington DC area. Unfortunately that job ended with the recession of 2008 and i moved back to central Pennsylvania where i grew up amd am most comfortable. since my return i have built 2 homes as general contractor and tried to focus my attention on mechanicals. I have done many kitchen and bath renovations and that has been both fun and challenging.
