I have been working with Tom for three decades. Tom has produced logos, brochures, letterhead, corporate ID packages, and more for me as I worked for various big fortune 500 companies, small medical device start ups, and most recently with a cancer non-profit. I can count on Tom to make me look good no matter what the project or budget; big or small. Unlike too many graphic designers today that are dependent on Photoshop and computers to produce a piece, Tom is a true artist. Fluent in oil and water painting, pen and ink rendering, and capable of producing fine art or cartoons, Tom is a master of it all. That doesn't mean that computer based media is out of his realm, on the contrary, he wears it like a glove. It means that he brings a true artist's eye to a project, and is not confined to the thinking of someone whose experience and skills are solely technology based. But the great thing about working with him is that even with his decades of success working with high end clients with recognizable names, Tom is approachable, works on his own without the cost of a "team" to conceptualize and manifest the project, and he has an inherent sense of the right look and feel for a project be it a T-shirt for a billfishing event or cancer walk or a sophisticated brochure for a big company. He also has an uncanny sense of typography and his choice of fonts for the many different projects that I have taken him are novel without being inappropriate, keeping my ads and print materials unique, yet appropriate. My favorite trait of his is that he listens. First draft of ideas from him are almost always spot on to what I had imagined and discussed, and require very little tweaking to be exactly what I or the company want. Tom's work is also timely, and having gone to him with short timeline needs he never fails to deliver. Tom is what you want; someone that wraps his mind around your idea quickly, produces award winning end product when anything less would create a costly misstep, and meets deadlines; all at a fair price for the product delivered.
