Rev. Tom Schmidt was a HUGE inspiration to me and my family during his service as minister of our UU church. He officiated the memorial service for my brother who passed away in 2013 and was very caring and compassionate. My family is religiously diverse, to say the least, and his delivery was spiritual, without being religious. Everyone loved everything about it and we were all incredibly moved by his service. He also officiated my twin daughters' bridging ceremony when they graduated high school last year. His insight and advice to our young adults was truly inspirational. Tom was featured in a few local news stories when he offered to perform weddings for same-sex couples in our area at no charge. All couples were delighted to find a kind, understanding Minister in this very conservative area of Texas and remarked at the ease and careful consideration Rev. Tom provided on this most important day.

Reverend Schmidt recently performed my son's wedding ceremony in Texas. It was a small, intimate family gathering and he made it even more special by the attention to detail he provided. He helped us walk through everything at the rehearsal, so we all looked like we knew what we were doing the next day. He had provided my son and fiancee with copies of several ceremonies to choose from in advance, so it could be personalized to their tastes. He was kind and patient and relaxed, which helped us all to be relaxed too.

Reverend Schmidt has served as my minister and coach for many years. I have attended numerous services and life passage events that he has officiated. Each event has been meaningful, moving, and thought provoking. He is very skillful in listening and working with others to create collaborative experiences where everyone feels included. I can recommend Reverend Schmidt with no reservations.
