Introduction

I don't know of anyone who serves as a gift registry consultant independently; I have only heard of gift registry consultants who are employed by retailers. Since I am independent, I am able to create a well-coordinated registry with items from multiple retailers. As an interior design, organization, and home staging professional, I would say I have a better handle than most on staying within a budget due to my education and experience. It uses both my creative and analytical sides!

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always enjoyed interior design, fashion, organizing, merchandising, and gift registries. I studied fashion design and merchandising straight out of high school and worked in retail management for a few years. Later, after my wedding, I decided to work for a cookware shop with an in-house gift registry, where I was employed for three years and eventually served as a merchandiser and cookware buyer. My combination of experience in housewares and fashion gives me the ability to merge the two industries in a way that yields a particularly polished result.
