FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I price every job as a unique stand alone project with a spreadsheet. Each cost line item is accounted for. It's the only way I know to arrive at a cost that is accurate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The initial estimate and interview is free. I visit the jobsite and listen to what the client is trying to accomplish. I ask quite a few questions to clarify the details of the project. I then take measurements and pictures. In a few days I will have a written scope of work and pricing prepared to present the client. Depending on the size and scope of the project we may have to go through a design process. It requires patience and an empathetic ear to truly understand what the client is trying to communicate. But once we have a design completed that the client is excited with, we move into the construction phase. The key to the construction phase is communication and cleanliness. We are not working on some new construction jobsite, we are working in someone's home. We are purposefully mindful of that at all times. Our jobsites are left in broom clean condition at the end of each workday.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Engineering Degree and have consistently pursued ongoing professional training in the construction field since entering it in 1998. I have been a member of several manufacturer's advisory boards and have consulted on the design of ventilation product that is now a standard in the industry.
