- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Cakes are custom made and therefore, require a custom quote. But, I base my pricing on the flavor of the cake and it ranges between $2.25-$3.00 per serving. This includes flavor, filling, and any buttercream design. Fondant, sugar flowers, dipped fruit, etc are additional and priced per design. Delivery and set up fee begins at $50 and goes up from there depending on the distance traveled.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am more than happy to answer any questions by phone or email, but I prefer a face to face meeting. During our meeting the bride and groom are able to sample my cakes so they know they are getting a great tasting cake. We also discuss your wedding and all the details of the night. From there we choose an appropriate size cake for your wedding. We then discuss and choose flavors and custom design the cake for you. At that point a contract is written up and a firm quote is given.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am 4th generation in the wedding industry and have been raised around cakes and catering my entire life. I have learned from some of the top wedding professionals both in the Austin and Houston markets. Once I decided I wanted to start a business of my own I took a few classes and have been in business since 2008. I can take up to 3 weddings per weekend and most weekends I book up.
