Magellan College Counseling
Introduction: There are many independent college counselors in Los Angeles. I work hard to ensure that the student feels ownership of the process. It's about the student's future. The parents and I are supporters on the student's team.

- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?As a member of multiple professional organizations related to college counseling, I always take advantage of professional development opportunities in my field. I average about 100 hours of professional development per year. I also visit dozens of colleges each year, both in and out of California, so that I am able to present a broad spectrum of college options to clients.
- What types of customers have you worked with?I work with high school students to optimize their extra-curricular activities, improve their writing skills and search for the right college for their social and academic needs.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Interview more than one college counselor! Just like finding a college that fits is a search process, hiring a college counselor is as well. I need to be confident that your teenager and I get along, as we'll be spending a lot of time together.
