FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate is $300.00 per hour - with that said each case is different as I usually do not charge an hourly rate for my representation in most of the personal injury cases I work on. These cases are more often than not on a "contingent fee", if there is no recovery there is no fee to be paid. In every circumstance I would like to know all the facts and details of a case so I can offer an estimate of time that will be expended. I very often require a retainer paid in advance to be placed in trust to draw from, for payment of earned fees. On Criminal representations I require a retainer paid in advance of representation and the amount of this retainer will vary depending on the nature of the crime being gcharged.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically will discuss the problem for which the client seeks help in a brief telephone conference. This can help to narrow the scope of my representation and also help me better understand the client needs. Thereafter I recommend a brief meeting to discuss matters face to face; I frequently say must of us want to see what a pair of shoes look like before we buy them - by this I mean whether we are a good fit as attorney and client. Typically I do not charge for a short meeting to discuss the case.
