Introduction: As a sole practitioner, I have been zealously representing people with all manner of legal problems for over 30 years. I am dedicated to their sense of well-being in my representation of their legal interests. Over the years, I have represented people in relatively minor traffic matters such as a speeding ticket as well as client's charged with DUI's all the way up to serious felony crimes. Automotive work has also led to the representation of individuals involved in traumatic personal injury cases whether it be a car wreck or related to one of my favorite past times - bicycling. Often Cyclists are involved in traumatic accidents as they strive to share the road with automobiles My clients are also involved in domestic matters including the dissolution of their marriage and hard fought child custody litigation. Given the hard economic times that our community has gone through over the years, understanding the Bankruptcy Code is essential to protect my clients. Understanding the Bankruptcy Code is essential to most practicing attorney's today in order to properly advise them of the various complications they find themselves involved in with every day life. Given the number of years I have been practicing law, I am well familiar with a broad spectrum of specialists in the legal community, if it is not a problem I can handle, I can refer you to the one who can. Feel free to connect with my office and I will endeavor to help you out or point you in the right direction for the right help.

As I started a new business, the last thing that I thought of was failure. I had all the optimism in the world that my business would flourish and financial security would be a comfort that I took in to retirement. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as I had planned and over the course of a few years, I lost everything. The stress was overwhelming and panic surrounded me like a vulture waiting to pounce on dinner. I was embarrassed over my inability to make ends meet and truly wanted to hide in a remote cave in order to escape it all. It was hard to think clearly as fear clouded any vision of hope. As I drifted in to depression and felt the heavy weight of desperation on my shoulders, a friend referred me to Steve. It was hard to make that call but I gave it a shot and with the gentleness of loving parent and the understanding of a good friend, Steve shared a vision that began to sprout hope. He took charge immediately. He stopped bill collectors from knocking on my door and removed wage garnishments that made it difficult for me to have enough money to eat. Steve guided me down a path that educated me on the elements of bankruptcy and showed me a path to take that would allow me to rebuild my financial life. He walked with me every step of the way. He communicated regularly and made me feel valued. Before working with Steve, I pictured myself homeless in a matter of months but with Steve’s help, he was able to protect what little I had left. He took me from utter despair to a place where fear was behind me and he brought closure to my bankruptcy in less than 90 days. Today, I don’t need to hide. Today, I wake up with hope and optimism because Steve helped to give me a new start in life.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My hourly rate is $300.00 per hour - with that said each case is different as I usually do not charge an hourly rate for my representation in most of the personal injury cases I work on. These cases are more often than not on a "contingent fee", if there is no recovery there is no fee to be paid. In every circumstance I would like to know all the facts and details of a case so I can offer an estimate of time that will be expended. I very often require a retainer paid in advance to be placed in trust to draw from, for payment of earned fees. On Criminal representations I require a retainer paid in advance of representation and the amount of this retainer will vary depending on the nature of the crime being gcharged.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I typically will discuss the problem for which the client seeks help in a brief telephone conference. This can help to narrow the scope of my representation and also help me better understand the client needs. Thereafter I recommend a brief meeting to discuss matters face to face; I frequently say must of us want to see what a pair of shoes look like before we buy them - by this I mean whether we are a good fit as attorney and client. Typically I do not charge for a short meeting to discuss the case.
