FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For very small projects that can be completed in one day a simple approach is an hourly rate. For larger projects that involve multiple systems, payment gateways, APIs, databases, data dashboards, mobile apps, etc., I first have a set of meetings with the client to determine the scope of the project. Next stop is creating a wireframe document or what I like to call a blueprint, when the requirements and expectations have been set we can talk about a project quote and timeline.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Always start at the drawing board. These days I am lucky if I can enjoy sitting in front of a client for these types of meetings. Once the drawing board part is done I always wireframe and run the project through a set of tests with the customer, it's all to make sure we find possible pitfalls before I write the first line of code or even open the first photoshop document.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every single project that I work on is different from the other in some way. In 90% of my projects I need to educate myself into how to make it the right way. In the world of development you need to continue education everyday because projects are very demanding and new technologies come every day.
