Our son took piano lessons with Salley for 6 years. She is an accomplished music teacher, very professional, friendly, flexible hours, and reasonable rates. Our son started as a beginner player and now he can play anything from modern contemporary to complex classical music. Salley has taught him how to sight read music, express emotion while playing, music theory, and so much more. His piano technique and skills are amazing! Through Salley, our son has developed the confidence to preform in front of small or large audiences, and he has a deep appreciation of music. Whether your goal is to learn to play the piano for fun, or to become a professional musician, we would highly recommend Salley for your piano teacher.

I have worked with Salley Kim in two capacities: as an accompanist for our State Solo & Ensemble Music Festival and as a private piano teacher to my granddaughter. I would hire her again in both regards. She was dependable, accommodating and proficient as an accompanist. As a piano teacher, she was encouraging, kind and thorough. I really liked her teaching stress of using strong fingers, learning the musicality of the piano selection as well as learning the notes, and her willingness to incorporate theory lessons into the piano instruction.

An amazing piano teacher. Everything I needed, flexible classes and times that met my needs, completely private so no pressure from other people. I am trying to learn as a hobby, and not very strict as far as my practice at home, but each lesson makes me want to learn more and more, and I have played a lot more at home since starting my lessons. I believe she told me she has been teaching for +20 years and has been playing for even more, and her experience and skill definitely shows! I consider myself lucky that I found such a skilled and great teacher. I wouldn't switch teachers even if they were half the price, and her lessons were a little bit less than the two other people I looked at. 10/10!

It is too early to write any review cause my daughter had the first lesson last week. But I was so impressed on her professional approach to a young child and her ability to make the atmosphere smooth. Learn that she teaches both theory and practice in English and Korean. So happy to find an excellent teacher!

My 8-yr old son has been taking lessons from Salley for the last 6 months or so. Salley tailors lessons to the student per I requested. Her teaching style includes a healthy amount of music theory along with playing, and she pays a remarkable amount of attention to the playing techniques. I am amazed by the attention she pays to details of playing techniques for my 8-yr old -- hand position, finger position, wrist movement, articulation. I am really glad that we found Salley. What she is doing for my son's music skills and appreciation is far beyond my expectations.
