Introduction: Welcome to Last Frontier Piano Studio! • Dedicated NFMC(National Federation of Music's Club) ALASKA PRESIDENT/Chair • High standard for quality music students • Performing Based Studio Note: Lessons are billed at a flat monthly rate length. Zoom consultations are available for any questions regarding lessons, billing, and device setup. Currently, due to the COVID-19, ALL LESSONS are held ONLINE live via Zoom conferencing video software. Last Frontier Music is committed to the safety and health of students and families. Lesson Length: 30-minute lesson per beginner 45-minute lesson per intermediate level(evaluated by the teacher) 60-minute lesson per advanced level student(evaluated by the teacher) ABOUT THE TEACHER My love for music started at a very young age. Starting to play piano at the age of 6 was what got me to hook, and then at the age of 8, I took a keen interest in learning the guitar. When he was a high schooler, he joined the local orchestra and took cello lessons from the local Cello Instructor. So music was always flowing in his brain and was even passed down from past generations. I have been performing for my entire life from singing in choirs to accompany vocal performers on the piano to performing in local piano competitions. I enjoy playing and performing music of all styles from classical to jazz to ragtime. I love teaching all ages from preschool to adults. If you are a beginner and/or don't know how to read sheet music, I can definitely help you! If you are interested in learning how to play the piano while singing, I can definitely help as well. Finally, I also welcome serious students of piano who are thinking about making classical music into a career choice. I also aid students in the Royal Conservatory Piano Exams. Both of my children love Piano lessons with Mark! He’s patient with them, and really gets them to open up when it comes to music. My daughter is very shy and really struggled with piano at first and he took his time and taught at her pace so she understands better. Because of that, she has really flourished, this is our 3rd year of lessons with him. My son can talk until his little heart is content with Mark, but when it’s time for lessons, they get down to it and have fun during the lesson. My son enjoys the challenge Mark brings for him. I have two very different children and Mark happily teaches them with the different techniques they need to learn with at their own levels with never ending patience.

We are thankful for Frontier Piano Studio. I like that my daughter enjoys her teacher. Mr. Mark has been patient with our daughter and it's a blessing. The studio is rather close in distance from our home but also he travels for lessons and even offers virtual lessons and that is great! This is my daughters third year doing piano lessons with Frontier Piano Studio. This year we were able to have lessons with Frontier Piano Studio through homeschooling because he is a vender through IDEA. I have enjoyed seeing students talents through Mr. Marks dedication as well and the recitals he puts on for his student. If you are thinking about piano lessons look no further!

Working with Mark was one of the best experiences for me. He really helped me mold myself as a pianist. I started out knowing some about piano and now here I am playing any song I can possibly play. Thanks to Mark he helped me get to my highest limit. Now all I need to do is practice a piece and I can play anything I want to. I really loved working with Mark and I love the piano player that I am to today. I am thankful that he could help me get to this point.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
New students will pay a non-refundable registration fee of $20 that will be applied to the first invoice. Lessons are charged in a flat monthly rate with an automated payment system via email. Zoom consultations are available for any questions regarding lessons, billing and device setup. Consulations are 20 minutes long. Registration Fee – For NEW students a $20 non-refundable registration fee applies to the first invoice. For returning students who have not had a lesson in the last 30 days the registration fee applies again. The registration fee is applied in addition to the first month of lessons. *MONTHLY RATE PACKAGES* Lessons are billed monthly and available in the following packages with recurring private lessons being held weekly (typically 4x/month) in accordance with the studio calendar. Longer duration packages are typically used for intermediate/advanced students and students that are studying more than one instrument. A 20-minute consultation is available if you have questions or if you need device setup for online lessons (live through Zoom video conferencing software). Student's doing Royal Conservatory Repertoire or taking Exams must take a minimum of 45-minute lessons.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to deal with the family as a whole, and ask any questions regarding the home environment creates a picture as a whole for music lessons. It is important for me to see if we are a good fit before continuing weekly piano lessons.
