Introduction
As the computer and mobile phone market continues to rapidly grow, mega corporations see it as a cow by responding to it with grossly overpriced services and an almost robotic customer service experience. At DCS, we focus on fair prices, and a business practice that actually aims to solve our customer's problems...not create new ones for more revenue. We're available 24/7 for service given enough notice, in case of emergencies and for those who work odd hours. And, as an added bonus, we offer on-site services as well as off-site - you don't even have to leave your own home! I'm a natural problem solver. When faced with a problem, I like to jump right into the meat of things, slowly whittling down every possible scenario until I find the perfect solution. What I like about my job is that's the absolute basis of it - every scenario I encounter is slightly different and requires a specific solution. I thoroughly enjoy the process of figuring that out.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We offer initial price estimates based on typical services, but these are just estimates. I try to be very clear in how I charge for things as they might change during a job depending on the issues that arise, and I make it my personal responsibility to explain these things fully to the customer prior to doing any extra services. Much like a car, sometimes the initial problem is merely the symptom of a greater issue that also needs to be resolved. To that end, we have 3 basic pricing tiers. Normal On-Site Work starts at $60 and covers: - Basic Device Setup - Network Troubleshooting - Password Recovery/Reset - Virus and malware removal (assuming the job isn't abnormal, which it often is.) Our 2nd tier at $75 covers mostly hardware issues, such as: - Hardware Diagnostics and Replacement (hard drives, RAM, etc.) - Cell phone screen repair - Data Recovery The first 2 tiers are typically on-site. We have a 3rd pricing tier based on off-site work, which we charge more for because those jobs are generally more time intensive. The third tier starts at $100, and includes: - Particularly troublesome Virus/Malware removal - Data backup and recovery - OS Reinstall/cleanup - etc. These are just estimates for typical work. We also offer services on a case-by-case basis such as advanced network jobs, hardware refreshes, web-site design, etc - these jobs typically don't fit into such neat categories, and we like to talk with the customer before we can give a firm estimate. Feel free to inquire about more advanced jobs, and we can work something out.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Yes, most definitely. I'm actually in school pursuing a degree in Management Information Systems, in which I'm all but required to stay up to date on anything and everything computer related. Being in this sort of business, I keep an eye toward the future so I can remain informed and competitive. This ranges from testing the Release Candidate of Windows 8 to see how it worked and what potential issues might come from that; keeping an eye on important security updates in Windows and IE, among other browsers, and actively participating in an anti-virus community to see what sort of new threats arise day to day. I consider viruses and malware to be the number one threat to the modern computer user, and as such I make it my business to stay up to date concerning up and coming malicious software, what exactly it does, and how to get rid of it.
