About

I teach private or semi-private 30 minute swim lessons for ages 3 to adult in heated, home lap pool. Each private 30 min lesson is $35. Semi private (2 people) 30 min lesson is $22.50 each person or $45 total. I'm a veteran swim instructor, having over 45 years experience. I teach the 4 basic strokes, proper breathing, and water safety activities/skills that all should know. Customers receive individual attention and location is off of Drake Ave in Jones Valley (Huntsville). I teach Mon-Sun 9a.m.-12 & 4-7pm. Flexible hours. I love seeing the smiling faces on children & adults when they see their progress in the water.

My daughter was excited to go to her swimming lessons with Ms. Beth. On her first lesson, Ms. Beth was teaching my daughter not to hold her breath and showed her several strokes. Ms. Beth was very patient with my daughter and used the time wisely.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I find out what their swim level is and start from there whether beginner or intermediate.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters Degree in Health & Physical Education/minor was in Special Ed. I taught Phys Ed for 30 yrs & taught Special Ed for 2 yrs. I’ve been teaching swim lessons over 45 yrs.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I swam competitively from age 6 on. I started lifeguarding & teaching swim lessons at age 15 & have loved teaching swimming since.
