We work with individuals to write a service that tells who they are and that honors the Lord. Another Happy Couple excels at short lead-time weddings - nobody does it better! We would love to do your ceremony and be a part of your special day. The quoted price includes a pre-wedding meeting (either in-person or on the telephone) to discuss your needs. The price also includes our writing a personalized service that you can review and approve. The ceremony must be something honoring to Jesus. We do not perform same-sex ceremonies, non-Christian religious ceremonies or polygamous (multiple partner) ceremonies. There is a non-refundable deposit (this assures you a place on our calendar); we only expect that after we meet or speak on the telephone and you decide you want to hire us. We accept credit cards, PayPal or cash - no checks please. Final payment must be made on or before 30-days prior to wedding day unless other arrangements are agreed to. Allan McConnell was the officiant at my daughter's wedding this past weekend. I must say he performed a beautiful ceremony and his spoken words were so meaning and so special. Yikes! With less than 3 weeks to go until our wedding we found ourselves without an officiant. Having gone through our list of knowns, it was time to leap into the unknown. Not for the usual viewing of death-defying acts of insanity or making impulse purchases of really cool useless stuff, but to find a stranger to officiate our wedding, we turned to the internet. Expectations were off the charts. South. And then we found Allan on Thumbtack. And Allan spun the compass. This was our eventual timeline: Day 1 - Connected with Allan on Thumbtack. Day 2 - Set up a meeting at the wedding site for the next day. Day 3 - Met with Allan to discuss needs and expectations (not the old expectations, but ones that were rapidly ascending). We had no doubts that we had found the right person. Day 4 - Allan emailed the 1st draft of a wonderful ceremony. Over the next 12 days, we incorporated our own vows and added a scripture reading by a friend. Day 16 - Emailed the revised draft to Allan. Day 17 - Allan emailed the 2nd draft. We revised and responded. Allan emailed the 3rd and final draft. Same day. Day 21 - Wedding at the Sibyl Temple in Vestavia Hills, AL. I added the timeline to illustrate how quickly Allan responded to our questions and comments. His replies were always informative and encouraging. From our first meeting we knew that our ceremony was in good hands, and we could concentrate on whether sushi or BBQ made the better reception victual (we chose both). Allan's officiating was confident, friendly, humble, and welcoming, and he drew bride, groom, and guests together into an inspired wedding ceremony. Afterward he mingled as an old friend. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We quote every wedding individually - and we are willing to work within a couple's budget if they ask for special pricing. We will also provide our services at a discounted rate to active duty military personnel and to those who cannot pay for our services because of a verifiable financial hardship (based on availability of our ministers).
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After the initial quote we speak with the bride and/or groom to determine exactly what they are looking for, we then prepare and send a personalized ceremony that they can review and approve.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have many years of collective gospel ministry. We live lives committed to the Good News of Jesus Christ.
