- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I generally look at a project and estimate according to experience and research if necessary. I do sometimes work strictly by the hour, which in some cases better suits the situation for all involved. My hourly rate for skilled labor with necessary tools is a minimum of $40.00. I charge a lesser rate for material selection and pickup, etc in such a situation. I keep a fair tally of such costs, but in a bid I would have it figured in as best possible. I do not mark up material costs..we are already paying for enough "fingers in the pie" so to speak...(My humble opinion...)

Just to avoid a blank space, I suppose I could truthfully say I've been enrolled in ongoing studies with the American University of Blue Collar Survival...majoring in Residential Remodeling.
