Introduction: I'm an all-music DJ who loves it all, so I play it all! I guess you could say I'm the DJ for the ages. I also have a full karaoke setup that is optional. I am equipped with a full DJ lighting setup plus a fog machine and much more. My sound system can fill the room for 25 or 250. I am a perfectionist, so it's going to sound great, period. I have been involved in event planning and music for more than 20 years but only made it official about 6 years ago when a friend needed a DJ for a reunion. It's grown from there, and I couldn't be happier. I've planned and DJed wedding receptions, birthday parties, class reunions and holiday parties -- you name it. I even did a "leaving for college" party once for a group of teenagers. I never anticipated doing kid's parties, but once it happened for the first time (see glow in the dark picture), it has just continued to grow and now has become one of my favorites. The kids really have an absolute blast. They love the karaoke! At the other end of the spectrum, I've had the pleasure of being the DJ for a birthday party for a gentleman who was turning 70 years young, and coming up in August, I will be the DJ for a class of 1959 high school reunion! My father is very musical, so I obviously inherited that from him. I was also blessed to have been handed down a huge collection of his generation's music. He is a big fan of oldies PC bop (some call it shag) music. I grew up in the '80s and '90s, and I love my generation's music with a great deal of passion. I'm into old-school rap, new-school hip-hop, and pretty much anything you can dance or head-bang to. Country is not my favorite but neither are hotdogs, and I seem to eat a lot of hotdogs! My point is, I'm into all music genres -- you name it; I've got it. If I don't, I'll be getting it real soon. My club experience is limited, but I am currently the entertainment director and house DJ at Buchanan's of Ozark, Alabama, also known as "The Grog Spot". We have a very diverse crowd, so I'm challenged every night to play a little bit of everything. There are 100 people there on any given night, and I'm mostly spinning '80s, hair-band hard rock and booty music that night, but out of the 100, I noticed two who look to be musically out of place that night. I will still always try to find the perfect time to play the perfect tune to make them happy and at home with us too on that night. That for me is one of the things I truly love about being a DJ, trying to make everybody in the room as musically happy as possible, no matter what! I can handle the music and entertainment for any event and for all ages and handle it well. I live to put people on the dance floor and on the karaoke stage. I love watching their smiles grow and grow as the good times roll! It doesn't take a genius to see the passion that I have for what I do. There is nothing like being a DJ. I have the highest hopes for the future of JFunktion Productions, but if it doesn't get any better than this, well, that's okay too. Live life. Love life. Life is good. It's truly been a blessing.
