FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's almost impossible to get a quote that is fair to customer and employee without seeing the job or at least talking to customer and getting their ideas on what they want. I don't want to give to big of a bid and customer draw back and say woe. But then I don't want to give a quote and get to the job, and say woe. Both needs to understand when we see the scope of work, then we talk price.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If be you are a new customer, I want you to know that I have gone over your job several times, and if I'm bidding on it, that means I am confident of my qualifications in doing the job. I warranty all my work, and today I'm getting paid, but if I cut corners and it goes wrong next week, guess what now it's free. Now some might give you the runaround but I get customers off thumbtack and it don't take much of a runaround to get booted. I can not promise you things won't go wrong, but what I can say is this, if it does go wrong I will make it right.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
i started hanging Sheetrock at 19 for 8 years off & on doing some framing, I did motel Maint. at 28 I went to work for Roto-Rooter for 3 years then I started my own drain cleaning co. & have remodeled kitchens, bathrooms,I also built an addition Onto my mother's house I also have done home maint. I hear so many people talk about certification and all and I talk about qualifications. Most don't know the difference, qualifications are learned by you and ojt certification is when you put money in someone's hand and they say you know it. I can't show where anybody has taught me anything. Except backing and 18 wheeler. Otherwise what I know I learned.
